This is an intermediate to advanced pattern. There are lots of color changes in the 5-rod wale. Finished basket is 5 3/4" tall, 5 1/2" across the base, and 9 3/4" across the rim. This is the item to get the pattern. To buy the basket, see the other item with this picture. I made the original basket as a modification of Kari Lonning's Becoming basket in her book The Art of Basketry. I made significant changes and our baskets look very different. This pattern includes alternate instructions for making a larger version as well as a two-colored version like my Wedgewood Swirl Bread Basket.
