This pattern can be made as a beginner with horizontal color stripes that have 1, 2, or 3 or more consecutive color stripes or as a more advanced basket with more elaborate color motifs, as in the Cherokee Wheels at the right. I like to keep a functional basket like this not vulnerable to breakage of curled trim pieces and small round reed. The rim on the basket in the first picture is a conventional bound rim with single X's. The basket with two chain accents has forward 3, back 2 double X lashing on the rim.
